Census

Now Ms. Bachmann says she "[isn't] comfortable" with the way the census is being conducted and, therefore, she won't be filling out her census forms in their entirety. She goes on to say that she isn't advocating that the rest of America do the same but, as is often said, 'what is good for the goose...' Of course she doesn't offer a better solution - simply, don't do it (apparently).

It seems Ms. Bachmann fears being put in an internment camp based on her census information (search her on www.youtube.com). Yet ANOTHER example of foolishness.

Update

About a year ago Ms. Bachmann went on about what she would do to lower gas prices (see her blog at http://michelebachmann.townhall.com) as they inched ever closer to the $2.00 a gallon mark. Now that we are well in excess of that, I ask her: so, what have you done? "Nothing" would be the answer. A loud mouth with no answers does nobody any good. Perhaps less time spent with Chris Matthews and more time on the issues would better serve the people of Minnesota's 6th congressional district.

As I perused her blog I also came across an article regarding the morning after pill. A somewhat interesting article but she supports her views by citing a study by the "CWA". A quick look at the CWA website shows that it is an acronym for Concerned Women for America. What do they stand for?:

"CWA is built on prayer and action. We are the nation's largest public policy women's organization with a rich 29-year history of helping our members across the country bring Biblical principles into all levels of public policy" - Apparently the separation of church and state is not a belief that your congresswoman, Michele Bachman, holds near and dear.?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

The beat goes on...

Summer is upon us (finally!) and the questions about my potential primary campaign against Michele Bachmann continue to come in. Can she be beat? (yes) Are you the best man for the job? (yes) Are you truly a Republican? (yes) etc..........As I go door to door and picnic to picnic I hear the same questions over and over. After meeting me and knowing what I stand for, the folks asking questions are won over and pledges for support are lining up. The one question that remains to be answered is; Are you going to do it? (too early to tell! Still beating the bricks to make a decision).

More to come

What a weekend

Between graduation parties and other family events, I found the time to do some door knocking in the 6th this past weekend! The feedback I got was overwhelmingly positive! I spoke to quite a few Bachmann supporters who, if the primary were today, would be called "former Bachmann supporters"! I had a lot of anecdotal evidence that many 6th district Republicans had tired of her but I now have it first hand. While I still have not made a decision that is written in stone, I am very encouraged by what I am hearing. Further, I am becoming more and more convinced that I am the best person to represent the 6th district based on Mrs. Bachmann's recent performance and Ms. Amble - Bachmann's past performance. Only time will tell! Thanks for reading.

RINO

It seems that being a "true Republican" and exercising common sense are mutually exclusive! I am a common sense conservative Republican and some folks out in cyber-world have already started to classify me as a RINO (Republican in name only), very clever I might add, without ever having spoken to me about issues. That is to be expected I suppose however name calling has never gotten anyone anywhere so I shall remain above the fray. As mom always said, "Sticks and stones...." Thanks for your support.

good of the party?

Well, it hasn't been long since I first started discussing running against Michelle Bachmann in the primary and already my phone and email have been going crazy. Mostly positive input but I have been contacted by several "very active Republicans" who are worried that should I run that the "DFLers will line up..." to vote for me in the primary just to beat Bachmann and "that isn't in the best interest of the party". Seems to me that what is in the best interest of the party is to have the best candidate on the ballot in November.?
